Hello,
I habe some question about the difference for this product.
We habe a Vsphere 4.1 ESXi Environement with Vsphere Standard License which include DataRecovery. (We started with ESX 4.0 Standard and therefore also bought a vranger 3.3 with 3 Years support.)
So we have right now DataRecovery 2.0 and Vranger 5.23 in use.
For our windows 2008/R2 Servers VmwareDR activated the application-consistent quiescing (enable disk.EnableUUID "true").
But with this setting, vranger backups fails. Error Message:
Cannot create a quiesced snapshot because the snapshot operation exceeded the time limit for holding off I/O in the frozen virtual machine
I unterstand the documentation with disable "Disk.enableUUID" and use of vzshadow. But what is the difference between vranger initiate a Snapshot and the way DataRecovery is starting a Snapshot?
Especially when i look at the log files and see : "Windows Server 2008 OS detected, verifying that application-level quiescing is disabled during the backup"
Hey, I want application-level quiescing! With DataRecovery this is possible! IS this a "bug" of Vranger?
